New York State of Mind

If I waited to do an entire East Coast tour recap, it would be way too long with too many visits and happenings since we are on the East side for 3 weeks. So you get a few separate recaps.

When planning the tour, this latter end became a bit of an agenda because of a June 24 wedding for one of J's Seton Hall Prep boys. This is why we sort of blazed through the Midwest 2 weeks ago.

This was one of the prettiest settings for a wedding we've been to. The ceremony and reception were at the Inn at Glenora Wine Cellars overlooking Seneca Lake, the largest and deepest of the Finger Lakes in New York. The weather was perfect to boot!
A true #vanlife moment: We left dressy clothes with our friends to bring us to the wedding rather than carrying them around the country with us!

These SHP weddings are always a gathering of many old friends since J's high school days. I like to think these male friendships are about helping each other through tough times, but they are really just about keeping each other's dirtiest secrets.

While we were in this new-to-us area of New York, we did a little exploring and ended up at Watkins Glen State Park for a 6-mile hike through the water-sculpted rock and 19 waterfalls. It's very popular, hence crowded on a Saturday, but was well worth it.
Rainbow Falls
 Cavern Cascade
Central Cascade - the tallest of the waterfalls at 60 feet!

Baby's first hike!

Just so you know what to look forward to: a New Hampshire recap next, followed by Connecticut!
