We scheduled in a little R&R during our post Te Araroa weeks in New Zealand and decided the perfect place to recharge our batteries would be at our favorite hostel, Adventure Queenstown.
We booked 3 nights at the hostel in Queenstown. Queenstown is the adventure capital of the world, with opportunities to mountain bike, skydive, bungy jump, paragliding, etc., around every corner. However, our agenda included a lot of non-adrenaline-fueled shenanigans, like eating Ferg Burger, watching movies (Hobbit 2!), planning out our last 7 days in NZ and Internetting (is that a word?). One would think we would have chosen a quieter city for "R&R," but it was the hostel that sealed the deal. It's a home away from home.
We did get out and do one "crazy" activity: the luge! J & I giggled a lot as we raced our three-wheeled carts around the banked corners of the track three times. Woohoo! I bet you can feel the crazy all the way back in the states!? It was fun and plenty of excitement for us. The luge is at the top of the gondola on Bob's Peak overlooking Lake Wakatipu, so we made the whole day crazier by not taking the gondola up and walking instead.
Our next stop is Milford Sounds!
